Emily Cooks: Vodka Pudding Shots

Never was there a better case for sarcastic quotation marks than this week’s blog post: Emily “cooks” vodka pudding shots. These pudding shots require more imbibing than cooking. So let’s get started.

(Fair disclosure: I saw this recipe on Facebook, but I added my own touch.)

1. Gather the ingredients

Pick whatever flavor combination you like. Pistachio pudding and cherry vodka? Whatever floats your boat. I’m doing chocolate and marshmallow because I’m not an animal, you disgusting philistine.

Ingredients: milk, pudding mix, Cool Whip, vodka. And marshmallows. Always marshmallows.
I found Fluffed Marshmallow Vodka. For when you want alcohol, but also to feel like a kindergartener.

2. Mix ’em together

Combine these things:

1 pack of pudding mix
3/4 C. cold milk
3/4 C. vodka
1 tub of Cool Whip

Also fair disclosure: I don’t know what Cool Whip is. Animal, plant, or mineral…
When you add the Cool Whip, fold it in so you maintain the fluff. (FYI, folding something in means you do a gentle scoop-flip combo with a spatula.)

3. Pipe it into your shot glasses

Not this kind of pipe.
Use a pastry bag to squirt the chocolatey goo into your shot glasses. If you threw out your pastry bag in a fit of rage last year, use a sandwich baggy with the corner snipped off.
Try not to think of the bed sheet scene in Trainspotting. Ooooh, sorry.

4. Fill your shot glasses

I bought plastic (recyclable) 2 oz. shot glasses on Amazon. In bulk. Don’t judge me.

One batch makes about 16 shots, minus one squeezed directly into your mouth.
Sleep well, my minions. For after 20 minutes of refrigeration, you are mine.
If you haven’t eaten yours yet, you can get a little fancy with marshmallows and whipped cream.

Other combos

For the next batch, I swirled some chocolate syrup into the cups before I added the pudding.
Cookies and cream pudding aka OMG.
Caramel swirled vanilla with Kissed Caramel Vodka.

Super easy. Very tasty.

Get a spoon and enjoy.

Happy New Year, everybody! I wish you the best in whacky foods and fun adventures.
