60-Second Spotlight: Fred Charles, Artist

Welcome to my 60-Second Spotlight on Someone Cool, in which I ask some goofy questions ala James Lipton (from Inside the Actors Studio), rapid-fire. Then a couple of legitimate questions.

Ready? Here we go...

This is Fred.

Do you have a nickname? If so, what is it?
I don't have a nickname, and if I do, people only say it behind my back in huddled groups. In my head, I'm the "Sticky-Note Art Guy."
If you were on the news, what would the headline say?
"Sticky-Note Art Guy Breaks Paparazzi's Camera at LAX" This headline, of course, would be on TMZ.

Do you have a favorite dessert or drink?
M&Ms; are my favorite dessert in the world. There are different varieties of M&Ms;, such as peanut and dark chocolate, but prefer plain old M&Ms;, which is odd, since I love dark chocolate. Let's put it this way, if there were a bowl of M&Ms; and I knew that one of them was poisoned, I would probably still eat a few, hoping that the odds were in my favor.
Who do you want to punch or hug (or both)?
I would punch Frank Zappa because he was one the most intelligent musicians of his era, composing music from rock to classical to jazz, but he wasn't smart enough to quit smoking until it was too late.
Tell us your public name?
My business name is Fred Charles and my business is Fred Charles Art.

Will you tell us about your artwork?

I am an artist who discovered painting while trying to avoid editing a science fiction novel. I never did finish editing the novel, but I did manage to paint over 200 paintings since then. I am in the process of launching a store at my website to sell my work.

At the beginning of this year, I challenged myself to create a new piece of art on a Post-It Note each day, which I post all over social media. If you would like to see my Sticky Note Art, I added the link below.

Aside from art, I try to blog once a week about different subjects ranging from creative motivation and using social media for self-promotion.

Where can we find out more?
